All of Genetrack's specimen collection facilities
follow strict chain of custody specimen collection protocols. Please
check the online location finder for availability in your city.
Chain of Custody and Identification Procedures
Patients
must bring valid photo identification to their appointment. Identification
for children is also required and can be in the form of a health
care card, birth certificate, or vaccination records. Appointments
for sample collection are approximately 15 minutes in duration.
Phlebotomists will obtain either a small blood sample or a noninvasive
buccal swab sample. Strict chain of custody and identification procedures
will be followed during the appointment. Patients will be positively
identified, a Polaroid photograph is taken of the individual attending
the appointment, and a right thumbprint is obtained for verification.
Children under 18 years must be accompanied by their legal guardian.
Reports
All reports are fully accepted as legal proof of
paternity and non-paternity in courts of law in every province and
territory in Canada. Expert Ph.D testimony is available if required.
Turnaround Time
3 to 5 working days. If the results are required
sooner, please notify Genetrack staff at the time of booking.
Payment
Three payment options are available for tests ordered
through legal counsel.
- Direct payment by client. Your client can pay the laboratory
directly. Please ask your client to contact the laboratory directly
to arrange details for payment. Forms of payment accepted include
cheque, money order or credit card.
- Trust cheque.
- Funds held in trust. If the payment is held in trust with legal
counsel, please forward a written confirmation to Genetrack by
FAX. The law firm will be invoice after the test is complete and
the results have been released.
