Frequently Asked Questions about DNA testing
Is there a difference between swab and blood?
No. DNA is exactly the same everywhere in our body. Whether your DNA is obtained from buccal cells (inside the mouth), or blood cells, the results will be exactly the same. DNA collection using mouth swabs is usually the collection method of choice because it is quick, painless, and hassle free. Genetrack clients may choose either swab or blood collection (the price is the same). Unless otherwise specified, Genetrack will automatically ship out the swab kit as it is the preferred method for most clients. However, if you prefer blood collection, please indicate “fta blood card?in the comments box of the online order form and Genetrack will provide the blood kit.
